Artwork Specifications

For the cleanest, most durable DTF transfers, submit production-ready artwork using the specifications below. Your artwork will be printed exactly as supplied.

Before uploading: remove unwanted backgrounds, notes, guides, duplicate artwork and hidden elements. If it is visible in your file, it may print.

Artwork Requirements

  • Submit only the artwork you want printed. Remove notes, templates, guides, copies and garment-colour mock-up backgrounds.
  • Use a transparent background wherever no ink should be printed. White backgrounds and white boxes will print as white.
  • Use clean, hard outer edges. Faded, feathered, glowing or shadowed outer edges may not have enough adhesive to transfer correctly.
  • Make sure the full design fits within the artboard or page and is not clipped.
  • Build artwork at the actual intended print size. The maximum width is 22 inches; maximum height depends on the gang-sheet size selected.
  • Minimum overall design size is 0.25 x 0.25 inches.
  • Convert all fonts to outlines, paths or curves to prevent font substitutions.
  • Convert strokes and outlines to paths or expanded shapes.
  • For raster artwork, use 300 DPI at final print size. A minimum of 150 DPI may be accepted, but the result may appear soft or pixelated.
Minimum detail thickness: 0.018 inch (approximately 0.46 mm).
Fine lines, tiny text and isolated details below this thickness may not print or adhere reliably.

Other accepted raster files: TIFF, PSD and JPG. Files without transparency may include a printed background.

Vector Artwork

Shape-based, scalable artwork

Preferred source formats:

PDF AI SVG EPS

Outline all fonts and expand strokes. If the builder does not accept your source format, export a transparent 300-DPI PNG at the exact print size.

Best choice for the gang-sheet builder: a high-resolution PNG with a transparent background, exported at the exact size you want it printed.

Printing Expectations

Printed As Supplied

Artwork is not automatically cleaned up, recoloured, resized or corrected before production. Artwork assistance may be available for an additional fee and must be requested before printing.

Colour Reproduction

Monitors display colour differently from printed transfers. DTF output is produced using a CMYK-based print process, so exact screen-to-print colour matching cannot be guaranteed.

Original Colour Profile

You do not need to convert your file to CMYK before uploading. Supply the artwork in its original colour profile and avoid repeated conversions.

Gang Sheets

Multiple designs may be arranged on one gang sheet. Gang sheets are supplied together as printed and are not individually trimmed unless specifically arranged in advance.

Visual Examples

Transparent Backgrounds

The checkerboard represents transparency. A solid white background becomes printable white ink and will appear on the garment.

Edge Quality

Clean hard edges support reliable adhesive coverage. Very soft or fading outer edges may print poorly or fail to adhere.
